Physical Logical Access Interoperability (PLAI) Adapter for the OnGuard? access control system

LenelS2 continues to extend the OnGuard integrated platform by supporting the PSIA PLAI specification.

PLAI is a standards-based specification that uses the v3 Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) interface to support a number of logical identity directories, including Microsoft Active Directory®.

The OnGuard PLAI adapter allows companies to use an authoritative directory source to ensure that employee data is consistent between the OnGuard system and the directory in real-time. A PLAI solution helps companies easily manage employee data across multiple disparate security systems that commonly get introduced during company mergers and acquisitions.

The OnGuard PLAI adapter supports the following capabilities:

  • Ability to configure access to new cardholders based on directory attributes
  • Synchronize existing cardholders with the PLAI agent
  • Activate and disable physical access of cardholder based on directory changes
  • Support for Level 1 of the PLAI adapter specification

A PLAI solution is a great way to manage basic security tasks across multiple systems in an enterprise environment. This temporary solution is ideal while organizations move to a single dedicated security system that utilizes the full capabilities of an OnGuard system.
